I am blessed with many things, but sometimes it's the simple ones that remind me of that. Even when work is stressful, or friends hurt you, or life isn't what you asked it to be at that moment...

I am blessed...

Even going to work every morning before the sun comes up, gives me the pleasure of watching the sun rise everyday.

This isn't a picture of that, but it was a beautiful look of our 11th floor deck this morning.

Spent the day/night watching Buffy. Went real old school. Then I looked out my bedroom window and saw this creepy looking tree...

I'm not saying I'm scared, but it just went with the mood of the episodes. And, I think I see the face of a woman in the tree. Hahaha

It's another get to know me day. On December 17, 2008 I had a corneal transplant in my right eye. 2+ years later, I am still in varying stages of transplant rejection, and the disease I have will be one I battle all my life, but I sometimes think of the person that died and left a piece of their eye for me.

In all the doctor visits, all the medical bills, and all the pain - I still have life, and most of my vision. I know it may seem extreme to compare life to vision, but sometimes we have to be grateful for the little things.

Well, I figured if the point of this blog is to do a year in photos, and also get to know me a little better, then here we go:

 

No, these are not the illegal kind... I have been a diabetic since 2004, and this is part of what I need to stay alive.  It is an interesting change of life, but for the last 2 years or so, I have had it mostly under control.

No need to feel strange about it - I no longer do.  I just have to remember that the disease doesn't define me, it is just another part of who I am

It was game night (Balderdash to be specific).  The law read: In New Mexico, it is illegal to tear ___________ and Amanda wrote the following:

In New Mexico, it is illegal to tear"Your bandaid slowly as their country doesn't appreciate hair loss".

Now let's list what is wrong/funny with this answer:

1. New Mexico is not a country

2. General spelling corrections made before turning in her answer were probably not necessary

3. I'm not sure the question required an explanation, just a regular answer.

This is why I love game night with my girls!

I thought I would show a picture of my favorite dog on the planet. This is Mr. Beau Jangles...

He is the first dog that has been mine, all mine.  He has his stubborn streak (which unfortunately makes frequent appearances), but all in all, I love this dog!  My dad says he has little man syndrome (he tops the scales at 9lbs), but I think he's just fine.
